Free Streaming Television

An over-the-top (OTT) streaming entertainment platform developed by Sycamore Entertainment Group.

OTT means entertainment is delivered over the internet rather than through a traditional cable or satellite television subscription, created around an advertising-supported video-on-demand model, commonly called AVOD. Instead of charging viewers a monthly subscription fee, an AVOD service can generate revenue through advertising associated with its programming.

The model allows audiences to access entertainment at no subscription cost while giving content owners another potential method of reaching viewers and earning revenue.

SEGI TV was designed to include films, television programming, and entertainment from a variety of genres and independent producers.

Is SEGI TV Free?

SEGI TV was launched as a free streaming service supported by advertising.

The idea behind the platform is to make entertainment available to viewers without the recurring cost of a traditional subscription.

Advertising can support the distribution of programming, although the economics depend on audience size, advertising demand, content rights, and operating expenses.

The availability of individual titles and services may change as the platform develops.

Where Can You Watch SEGI TV?

SEGI TV was originally developed for connected televisions, mobile devices, and streaming platforms.

The company’s earlier distribution included support for platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.

My Perspective: Why I Created SEGI TV

I have spent much of my career in entertainment acquisition, financing, and distribution.

One thing I’ve learned is that creating entertainment and getting that entertainment in front of an audience are two very different challenges.

A filmmaker can spend years developing a project, raising money, completing production, and preparing a film for distribution.

But finishing the film doesn’t guarantee that anybody will see it.

Distribution has always been one of the biggest obstacles facing independent content producers.

That’s part of what interested me about streaming.

Traditional entertainment distribution relied heavily on a limited number of companies that controlled access to theaters, television networks, and audiences.

Streaming introduced another way for content to reach viewers.

I saw an opportunity to build a platform that could participate in that change.

SEGI TV was created with the belief that entertainment distribution could become more accessible, and that independent programming could find audiences beyond traditional distribution channels.

But launching a streaming service and building a sustainable streaming business are not the same thing.

Content acquisition, technology, advertising revenue, audience development, and financing all matter.

Those are challenges any independent streaming platform has to address.

What’s Next for SEGI TV?

I believe entertainment distribution is continuing to change.

Audiences are discovering content across social media, streaming services, mobile devices, and connected television.

The traditional boundaries between those platforms are becoming less rigid.

Through SEGI TV, we’re exploring how independent films, longer-form programming, digital discovery, and connected television might work together.

These are areas of interest and development, not a claim that every planned feature or distribution opportunity is currently available.

My interest remains in connecting content creators with audiences and finding ways to build a sustainable entertainment distribution business around that relationship.
